Product Description

Monks in Buddhist monastery blowing on Tibetan dungchen horn

POKHARA, NEPAL – CIRCA SEPTEMBER 2013: Monks in the Buddhist Matepani Gumba monastery blow on the Tibetan dungchen horn, in Pokhara circa September 2013.

The dungchen horn is the most widely used instrument in Tibetan culture with a sound sometimes compared to the singing of elephants. The monastery is situated on a small hill a few kilometers from Pokhara. It is very welcoming place and I was able to attend this ceremony.
